Pharmacy Cashier

Processes all sales transactions for pharmaceutical products, prescription fees, and health services. Handles cash, card payments, and insurance billing specific to the pharmacy. Provides front-line customer service for pharmacy-related inquiries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process payments for prescriptions and over-the-counter (OTC) medications sold in the pharmacy.
  • Accurately ring up sales, process card payments, and handle cash.
  • Verify insurance details and process claims as per pharmacy policies.
  • Reconcile daily cash and card transactions with sales reports.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information during transactions.
  • Assist customers with basic inquiries, directing complex medical questions to pharmacists.
  • Ensure compliance with pharmacy-specific financial regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized cash point area.

KPIs:

  • Transaction Accuracy Rate: Number of errors in processing sales/payments.
  • Cash Reconciliation Accuracy: Percentage of days without cash discrepancies.
  • Customer Wait Time (Pharmacy Checkout): Average time a customer spends at the pharmacy cash point.
  • Payment Processing Speed: Average time to complete a transaction.
  • Customer Service Feedback: Related to checkout experience.

 Shift:

  • Pharmacy Cashier 1 (Morning): 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM
  • Pharmacy Cashier 2 (Evening): 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM
